Committees are groups of parishioners created to examine and to report to the pastoral council their findings on the unique aspects of our parish community. Usually  committees provide recommendations to the pastoral council and are established, either long term of short term by the pastor. Subcommittees can spring from committees as needed.

Examples of committees at St Paul's are the Pastoral Council, Capital Campaign, Facilities, Finance, and Pro-Life committees.

Committees
  • Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council consists of members of the parish who serve as a consultative body to the Pastor.  The purpose of the council is to further the development of a Christian community by advising and assisting the duly appointed pastor in matters relating to the facilities, parish organizations, and pastoral activities.  It also serves as a channel of communication through which questions, insights, views, and plans of and for the parish may be exchanged and further an active, energetic, and unified parish.

    At St. Paul's

The Council encourages communication within the parish, with the community, and with the Archdiocese.  Council members are elected for two year terms, with specific information defined in the by-laws.  Most members are elected, others are appointed by the pastor, and some represent the Pastoral Staff. A variety of committees and sub-committees provide updates on varied topics.

Examples of ministries and committees that provide reports include Religious Education, Youth and Young Adults, Finance Committee, Facilities Committee, St Vincent dePaul Ministry, and the History Committee.

    Who can Attend?

  • History Committee

The History Committee is charged with researching, documenting, and sharing the rich history of our Parish.

    Purpose

To research, verify, and document historical information about St Paul's Church and our Parish community.  To bring light to the past so we may bring honor into today and secure the knowledge and blessing for those parishioners yet to come.

    Committee Overview

Slowly the years rolled on; pastors came and went; the people loved and wooed and wedded; they educated their children, blessed their grand-children, and then were gathered unto their fathers. The historical committee seeks to find and share these stories.

  • Pro-Life Committee

Welcome to the St Paul's Church Pro-Life Committee web page!  Our mission is to spread the Gospel of Life!

The Catholic Church values every human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death, while today's society promotes indiviudal choice that often ignores human dignity.  Abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia and assisted suicide, and capital punishment are important moral issues that are explained below in relation to Church teaching.

"I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.  Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live." (Dt. 30:19)

    Purpose

    Our goals are to:

    1. Educate and inform parishioners about Catholic Church teachings on life
    2. Provide support and encouragement in the defense of life
    3. Promote the Catholic culture of life as opposed to society's popular culture of violence and death
    4. Serve as a resource to parish ministries about pro-life issues.

    Purpose

To make people aware of the basic necessities that many people lack.  Basic necessities include a good water supply, a clean, safe living environment, and community assets to help many. This committee researches areas that need assistance, raise funds, and travels to help those in need.

    Goal
