Pastoral Council Retreat

All are SPECIAL!
On Saturday June 5th, fourteen members of the St. Paul’s Pastoral Council gathered at the Shrine of St. Anthony for a day long retreat. The experience was absolutely fabulous; the day was filled with prayer, guest speakers, and extensive discussion on how the Pastoral Council can serve the parishioners and community of St. Paul’s as we as a parish focus on Evangelization.

The theme for our retreat was Evangelization; Walking in the Footsteps of St. Paul. Our efforts and prayers resulted in nine (9) Goals for the Pastoral Council to work on in 2010-2011, and forty (40) actions to consider for implementation toward our goals.  As we work through the implementation plans over the next several weeks we will be sharing those details and asking for your help, so look for more communications from the Pastoral Council through the bulletin and our Website.

The Council did generate a theme for the parish as we move forward in our ministry of evangelization; “Disciples in Action”. Our plans and goals are centered on this theme; we want everyone in the local community to recognize the parishioners of St. Paul’s as true disciples of Jesus Christ through our actions. Since we all are SPECIAL children of God, we identified characteristics that defines’ us as “Disciples in Action”;

             S – Serving

             P – Prayerful

             E – Educators

             C – Caring

             I – Integrators

            A – Awareness

            L - Loving

Be on the lookout for examples of our parishioners demonstrating their abilities to be; “Disciples in Action”.
