Welcome to the St Paul's Church Pro-Life Committee web page!  Our mission is to spread the Gospel of Life!

The Catholic Church values every human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death, while today's society promotes indiviudal choice that often ignores human dignity.  Abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia and assisted suicide, and capital punishment are important moral issues that are explained below in relation to Church teaching.

"I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.  Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live." (Dt. 30:19)

Purpose

Our goals are to:

  1. Educate and inform parishioners about Catholic Church teachings on life
  2. Provide support and encouragement in the defense of life
  3. Promote the Catholic culture of life as opposed to society's popular culture of violence and death
  4. Serve as a resource to parish ministries about pro-life issues.

40 Days for Life Campaign - March 26th 2010

The Pro Life Committee at St. Paul's invites you to join us, and people in 167 cities in the US and abroad for the 40 Days for Life campaign.  The central focus of this campaign is to pray for God’s intercession to bring an end to abortion.  There are  approximately 100 women in Maryland alone who enter an abortion clinic every day, only to leave without their unborn children.

On March 26, we will be making a peaceful public witness outside Hillcrest Clinic in Catonsville, located at Rt 40 and Johnnycake Road, where they have been performing first and second trimester abortions for over 37 years. During the campaign, we will be praying for these women and others like them throughout the country.  Our prayers are also for their unborn babies, all men and women who carry the pain of abortion, workers at abortion clinics, and for local, state and national leaders who support abortion.

Let your Lenten works of mercy include praying with us on March 26. We will not be protesting, picketing, trespassing, or waving signs at Hillcrest Clinic; this will be a peaceful prayer vigil. Please join us by giving an hour or more, and if you cannot join us in person, please pray at home.

Please contact Sandi Nettina with any time you can join us between 7:30 am and 7:30pm on Friday, March 26:
