We are excited to begin a new year in Middle School Youth Ministry with our Re-Mix program! Re-Mix is a term used in the world of music. It means to take an already popular song and give it new life with a different beat or different instruments. It is a tool used to make a favorite song your own and to make it more personally meaningful to you. It is also a way to bring a song from a different genre into contact with a whole new audience who may have never heard it before.
Re-Mix, as we hope to understand it here at St. Paul’s Church, is a combination of three things: RE (Religious Education), MI (Middle School students) and X (the unknown, an experience). The program will take the catechetical dimension of a solid religious education program and re-mix it into something interactive and attractive to our middle school youth. The goal is to move them to an experience of meeting and loving God more deeply through prayer, catechesis, and opportunities for service.
6th, 7th and 8th grade students will meet on Sunday evenings from 7-8:30 PM in Dohoney Hall beginning on September 26. Please see the attached calendar for specific dates and themes, and mark your calendars now. Welcome to Re-Mix!
Blessings,
Fr.Matt Buening
