April 27th, 2008
St Paul parish community wished a fond farewell to Fr Mike on 27 April. Fr Mike was the pastor at St Paul for almost 5 years. After a Mass of Thanksgiving, Fr Mike and parishioners gathered in Dohony Hall for a reception. There was plenty of food, warm handshakes and special gifts.
Fr Mike has many wonderful talents - one of them is getting to know each person 'by name'. If he cannot remember the name of a child, he would give her or him a quarter. Knowing this, the children of the parish donated quarters to assist Fr Mike as he learns the names of the new parishioners at St Ignatius. Incorporating his fondness for flowers, youth presented Fr Mike with a flowered watering can - containing over 1700 quarters!
