Dear Friend...
Father Matt

Welcome to our parish website! I hope you are having a peaceful, good, and holy year. This year is very special to us. We are celebrating 170 years as a parish and there has never been a year like this one. That is because this is the Jubilee Year for the universal Church in honor of the birth of St. Paul. In fact, there has never been a year like this in the history of Christendom! Our glorious patron whose friendship and protection we have cherished since 1838 is indeed a great source of inspiration for all Christians.

I hope that this little stop in cyberspace is part of a larger mission to discover more about who St. Paul is and what he is all about. To help you, we set up a link for you to check out, the Year of St. Paul. Better yet, check out our activities for this year, including Bible Studies, and lectures about the Super-Apostle; you are welcome to them all. Even better still, come visit us by yourself or with a group and make a pilgrimage to our Church - that would be awesome!

Here is a hint about what St. Paul was all about; it comes from the beginning of chapter 2 of 1st Corinthians:

When I came to you, brothers and sisters, proclaiming the mystery of God, I did not come with sublimity of words or of wisdom. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear and much trembling, and my message and my proclamation were not persuasive (words of) wisdom, but with a demonstration of spirit and power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.

Yep, St. Paul was all about Jesus Christ and the ultimate sacrifice of love shown for all of humanity. This is also what this little Church on the hill overlooking beautiful historic Ellicott City is all about, Jesus Christ and His love for you and I.

Thank you so much for visiting our parish website. We are glad you are here and it would be wonderful to pray with you in person. We'd be glad for that.

Have a great year!

Sincerely in Christ,

Father Matt Buening
