Religious Education classes are offered for children ages 4 through high school. Classes are September through April. Classes for ages 4 and 5 are offered Sunday mornings during the 9:30 AM Mass. Classes for Grades 1-5 are on Monday nights from 7-8 PM; Grades 6-8 meet on Sunday nights from 7-8:15 PM; and High School students meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month from 7 – 8:30 PM. Volunteer catechists, substitutes, and building monitors are always needed to share in this important ministry.

To register for RE classes, please contact the Parish Office.

Inclement Weather Policy

When Howard County public schools close early or are closed due to the weather, our classes are automatically cancelled. At other times, listen to radio station WBAL AM (1090 on the AM dial) for cancellations. There will also be a message on S. Dorothy’s voice mail (410-465-0622, ext 20). You will not receive a call from your child’s Catechists

This program is for adults age 18 or older. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is offered each year at the Easter Vigil. A program of prayer, study, and spiritual formation prepares adults for this celebration. RCIA is offered for adults seeking entrance into the Catholic community through Baptism. RCIA is also for adult Catholics who seek renewal and/or updating of their faith including preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation. Sessions are held September to May on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 PM and include sponsors to walk with you in your faith journey. Any adult interested in learning more about our Catholic Faith, or being a sponsor is invited to call the Parish Office.

A Children's Catechumenate is also offered for children age 8 and above who have not been baptized or who have been baptized in another Christian tradition. Volunteers are always welcome to join our RCIA and children’s catechumate teams.
