Children, youth helpers, and adult teachers spend a week learning how much Jesus loves us, helps us obey, gives us all we need, protects us, and takes care of us. This awesome message is shared in large groups using skits, crafts, bible stories, games, and even snacks.
Planning meetings take place approximately three months before VBS begins. Many adult and youth volunteers ages 13 or over are needed to make this program a success.
Volunteers with limited time can help with many of the preparation tasks. Administrators, teachers, music leaders, set designers, craft makers, snack makers, and outside event supervisors are needed and must be available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the event week. Participants with physical limitations are welcome. There is something for everyone at VBS. Volunteers must register on Shield the Vulnerable through the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
