Altar servers are members of the church community who know the order of the liturgy and assist the priest with grace and reverence. Youth in fourth grade or above are invited and encouraged to be an altar server. At St. Paul's, altar servers help at the Mass of their choice and are usually scheduled once a month. Adults are also invited to be altar servers, especially at weekday Masses, funerals, and other special occasions.
Scheduling is conducted through a shared on-line calendar. Altar servers meet as needed after school or on weekends. Two training sessions are scheduled per year for new volunteers. This ministry requires the physical ability to navigate the altar. New altar servers are always welcome.
