RCIA is the process where adults learn about the beliefs of the Catholic Church with the possible intent of fully embracing the Catholic faith. Our RCIA group meets weekly from September through May with opportunities for Scripture Study during the summer months. At St. Paul and Resurrection, the RCIA process is directed by a coordinator and a team of parishioners who are practicing Catholics and want to share their faith. Each session includes prayer, a presentation on a specific topic by a team member or guest presenter, and time for discussion; inquirers and team members grow together through this journey.
Team members participate in sessions as well as the various Rites and present most of the topics. In addition to the team members, parishioners are often needed to act as sponsors for the candidates. Sponsors are encouraged to attend the weekly meetings with their candidate. They are also expected to be present for the Rites of Acceptance, Sending, and Election, and to attend the Easter Vigil when the candidate is received into the Catholic Church.
Each week we publish the topic for the upcoming Tuesday meeting in the bulletin and all parishioners are invited to attend to learn more about our rich faith.
